Did you know that World Read Aloud day is coming up?
Kids, you can read aloud to your parent, other adult, pet, brother or sister or even your favourite stuffie!
Parents, remember that even when your child(ren) know how to read, they can still enjoy a good read-aloud. Reading comprehension is usually at least 2 grades ahead of reading ability in the early reader years.
So, crack open a book and read! Here are some book lists from Jim Trelease's Read Aloud handbook based on reading comprehension level in case you need some inspiration. Kids, if you are just learning to read, pick books from the list 2 grades below yours.
